Bushmills is always Bushmills. And I suppose if you like consistency, that’s a very good thing.
I’ve just never been much of a fan.

Stranahan’s sherry cask single malt. Details at https://flaviar.com/stranahans/stranahans-sherry-cask/
Raisin. So much raisin. And chocolate.

On first opening it had that weird dill pickle aroma but this quickly gave way to a LOT of cherry and brown sugar which was kind of surprising to me.
Delicious but with a bitter/sour aftertaste that I really don’t care for.

So much pepper and coffee. Mmhmm. Delicious!
Peat and more peat. This was lovely and warm and chocolate and smoke. Very nice.

Alas, I did not take notes. I remember I enjoyed it but no details.

Honey and marmalade in the nose. Oak and sherry and vanilla in the mouth. Very nice. Would buy again.
Lots and lots of black pepper. Very little of the corn flavor so common in bourbon.
Lots of smoky wood flavors. A little mint and cloves

Peat and camphor and pineapple. Maybe some orange.
Overall I loved it. Would definitely buy if I found it.
This was the first one that I actively dislike. This was nasty.

The color is lovely so there’s that.
But the flavor and nose were pear and mint and something weirdly floral and bitter and the combination was just awful.
