Taste was like a butterfinger bar.

So much peat.
Smoke, brown sugar, cherry, and candied apple peel in the nose.
Taste like a candy bar. Caramel. Dark chocolate. Walnuts.
The Glenrothes 12 year old single malt, the Soleo Collection.
Caramel, orange peel and a little honey in the nose.
Pretty much the same on the tongue, plus a lot of butter.
Weird tart bitter aftertaste.
Grace O’Malley blended Irish whiskey.
Banana, brown sugar and molasses in the nose. As it opens up, honey and apples.
Tangerine and honey in the mouth.
A peppery finish.
This is one of the nicest so far in this year’s whiskey Advent calendar.
10 year old Islay from the Character of Islay Whisky Company.
So much peat … But not too much. Dark chocolate and caramel. Classic Islay flavors. Yummy.
Bright and floral. Lemon and mango. But too much rubbing alcohol in the nose.
Alas, got poured out by mistake. ☹️
Orange peel and fresh cut wood in the nose.
Leather and more bitter orange in the mouth.
Butterscotch emerging at the end but there’s also something mineral going on. I also keep catching traces of formic acid.
Forgot to take notes but it was nice.
Gulliver’s 47 single malt whisky.
Very pale. Lots of peat and camphor.
Some kind of tropical fruit – mango? Interesting flavors but the peat is kind of overpowering and I can’t place them.
